Mrs. Conception

Today, Mr. Andrews and I visited Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover, Maryland. This was one of the coolest malls I have ever been to. It’s not the Mall of America, but it’s still huge, even without the indoor amusement park. It’s so big it’s divided into “neighborhoods.” It has a ton of stores including all your standard mall stores plus a Best Buy, Bed Bath and Beyond, Dave & Buster’s, and T.J. Maxx right inside the mall. It’s pretty modern and very clean with cartoon-y accents and a brightly colored food court. We walked around it for about an hour and took it all in, agreeing malls have come a long way since our own teenage mall dwelling.

Some of the highlights:

Muvico Egyptian 24 Theaters- A gigantic cineplex designed all Egyptian style, with digital projection and even Beowulf in 3D. Definite plans to go there for many, many shows.

Medieval Times- Mr. Andrews has been interested in going to one of these places since we didn’t get to go in Vegas a few years ago. He got the flyer from the hotel lobby as soon as we got here. We found out their Thanksgiving Special is discounted by $20 per person for dinner/show. Reservations be damned, we’re gonna watch us some jousting on Turkey Day.

Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World - This store was awesome. Camping, hunting, fishing gear abound. You can literally get everything you need to live outdoors just like you would in a fully stocked home, but with kayaks, too. There is a virtual shooting range, an aquarium, a boat display area, a “fine gun” section (whatever that means) which was truthfully kind of scary, and a random collection of hunting dvds and video games mixed with margarita makers and cute little bags of ingredients for key limeade . Personally, my favorite products were the Camouflage Crock Pot and the $7000 Limited Edition John Wayne Gun Safe. Really, who wouldn’t want that?

FYE - Many expensively priced DVDs as well as every CD ever made, this is a great store to find all the stuff we want and then go home and buy it all on Amazon. We were attracted into the store by the Leg Lamps from A Christmas Story. Oh yeah, and they sell old cassette tapes for $1.99! Who knew you could even buy these retail anymore? I am sad I sold my old Dodge Dynasty last year, otherwise Jodeci would be rocking the tape player.

Santa – Two days have been set aside to have Santa pictures taken with your PETS! I see a festive photo of Sonny and Drama in my future!

I am looking forward to going again, maybe without my husband so I can hit the giant Victoria’s Secret, H&M, and the Saks Fifth Avenue Outlet. And maybe pick up a Ben & Jerry’s because, honestly, resistance is futile. I will be so well dressed! Oh – I mean, all of my friends and loved ones will be so well dressed. Holiday shopping time!
